What a recital edit includes
| Part | What happens | What helps |
|---|---|---|
| Sync | All cameras and any separate audio lined up on one timeline | A clap or a light flash before the show starts |
| Angle choice | A wide shot for formations, closer shots for solos and features | A note on which camera was where |
| Titles | Routine name, class or level, and the studio name on each file | The program in order, with spellings |
| Color and light | Cameras matched so a routine doesn't change color between shots | Cameras set to the same white balance on the day |
| Sound | Music level kept steady, crowd noise kept but not too loud | A board feed or the original music files |
Versions
Most studios want two things: the full show as one file, and a separate file for each routine so families can download the one their dancer is in. Some also want a short highlight reel for the studio website and social channels. Say which ones you need, and they go into the quote together.
Students and privacy
Recital footage is mostly of children and teenagers. Your studio's photo and video permissions decide who can appear in anything published publicly. Tell us about any dancer who must not appear in public versions; we can trim, crop or blur. Family-only files can be shared through a private link you control.
Music
Recitals use commercial music. A video kept for families is a different case from one posted publicly, where platforms may flag or mute copyrighted tracks. Check your studio's music licensing and each platform's rules before posting; we edit to whatever track you have the right to use.
Questions
Can you fix a shaky handheld camera?
Stabilization helps with small shakes. Heavy movement can't be fully fixed, so we lean on the steadier angle when there is one.
Can you handle two shows of the same recital?
Yes. Send both, and we'll pick the better performance of each routine or keep both, whichever you prefer.
Recital footage on a card or a drive? Tell us how many routines, how many cameras and when families or judges need the videos.
